What is Warrior Hockey?
"Warrior Hockey" is a program under USA Hockey designed specifically for injured and disabled military veterans. It provides an opportunity for those who have served in the armed forces and have a disability rating—whether physical or emotional—to play hockey in an adaptive and supportive environment. The program aims to help veterans regain confidence, build camaraderie, and enjoy the physical and mental benefits of sports.
The focus of Warrior Hockey is to create a competitive yet inclusive environment where veterans can participate regardless of their skill level. It provides access to training, equipment, and support systems, allowing veterans to play the game while connecting with others who share similar experiences. Beyond competition, it fosters a sense of community and belonging, helping veterans cope with the challenges they may face due to their service.
